The new standard for JTAC use, the IZLID Ultra maintains all the power and stability of its predecessor, the IZLID1000P, but at a fraction of the original weight and size. The IZLID Ultra combines the rugged and dependable features of all IZLID products in a smaller form factor and, at 11.7oz, is capable of being either hand-held or weapon mounted.
The IZLID Ultra is ideal for roping in aircraft and marking targets at night. Its ultra bright beam can be viewed by high-altitude aircraft or in high ambient light conditions with standard NODs.
As team JTAC, I could take direction from the team leader and use my IZLID to direct, focus, and concentrate the team’s fire power onto a target. When operating at night, everyone had some type of IR device on their weapon. Because of its size and intensity, the beam of the IZLID could not be mistaken for anyone other than the JTAC. As for controlling and “talking on” aircraft at night, it was priceless, making fast work of providing overhead aircraft with my position and quickly directing them to the target.
