In 2017 B.E. Meyers & Co. submitted a Flat Dark Earth, Near-Infrared / Visible MAWL® featuring the EC2 threaded Endcap to the Soldier Enhancement Program (SEP) via the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence, known as the MAWL®-X1. SEMA 2018 finished last week, wrapping up the first year of B.E. Meyers & Co.’s participation in one of the world’s premier auto shows. While SEMA may seem an unlikely place to find a laser manufacturer, B.E. Meyers & Co., who is known for innovative defense and aerospace solutions, had something truly unique to share with the automotive industry. The “MAWLR”, a Lexus LX570 that B.E. Meyers & Co. and Defconbrix transformed into the ultimate overland vehicle, was unveiled at SEMA in the Toyo Tires Treadpass. It is extremely rare to see an LX570 configured for off-road use, and none have a story quite like the MAWLR’s.

When Sean Jennings of Defconbrix picked up the Lexus LX570 from B.E. Meyers & Co. in Redmond, WA last February, it was a completely stock vehicle with a long way to go before it would become the MAWLR. The Lexus had belonged to the founder of B.E. In March of 2017 Brad Meyers, Founder of B.E. Meyers & Co., passed away after an amazing life.  He was an innovator, inventor, and was always looking to create something new and exciting. This Lexus LX570 was his daily driver, and he drove it to work every day with his dog Shadow always in the back seat. After his passing, Brad’s car sat in the B.E. Meyers & Co. warehouse for over a year, but it wasn’t ready to retire just yet.

In memory of Brad’s adventurous spirit, B.E. Meyers & Co. and Defconbrix are transforming his car into a purpose-built overland vehicle dubbed the “MAWLR” to travel with them as they showcase their Modular Advanced Weapon Laser, the MAWL®. B.E. Meyers & Co. has enhanced the capabilities of the Modular Advanced Weapon Laser (MAWL®) with its latest offering, the EndCap 2 (EC2). In keeping with B.E. Meyers & Co.’s unwavering commitment to the end user, the EC2 introduces two new features for improved performance with the MAWL:

1. A Threaded battery cap that allows for replacement of the MAWL’s battery without tools.
2. Redesigned remote fire ports for easy access when the MAWL is mounted to a platform.

Performing a battery change on the MAWL is simplified with the EC2. Its threaded battery cap can be loosened or tightened by hand, and makes the MAWL easy to maintain in environments where time is critical, and small tools may not be available or practical.

B.E. Meyers & Co., Inc. is proud to announce the release of a new variant of the MAWL series of weapon aiming lasers and illuminators: the MAWL-CLAD (Covert Laser Aiming Device).

The MAWL-CLAD distinguishes itself from other MAWL variants through the inclusion of a Short-wave Infrared (SWIR) laser pointer. This laser is undetectable by most common Near Infrared (NIR) night vision systems and other visual augmentation sensors, but is compatible with a variety of SWIR systems (i.e. E-COSI) currently in use with Special Operations Forces.

The MAWL-CLAD retains the NIR wavelength diodes present in other MAWL models to provide both marking and illumination for its primary “IR” function mode. This NIR system is visible with most common night vision systems and provides users with an effective aiming, illumination, and signaling solution for almost any low-light/no-light scenario. With the MAWL-CLAD, users can now seamlessly transition between a f
